Position Overview: 

The Staff Accountant I in the Accounting Team will be responsible for preparing a variety of journal entries, reconciling lower risk balance sheet and operating statement accounts and supporting the overall operations of the Accounting Department.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and record various journal entries to the general ledger
  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis
  • Investigate and report on variances discovered in assigned areas
  • Plan and coordinate assigned field and/or head office department month-end reviews
  • Complete monthly, quarterly and year-end close responsibilities
  • Use technology to streamline manual processes
  • Prepare assigned items for external audit

Education & Qualifications (Required and Preferred): 

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, required
  • CPA track, preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, required
  • Experience with JD Edwards, PeopleSoft and/or Hyperion, preferred
