Regional Safety Supervisor - 25876

Full Time Associate
On-Site

The Regional Safety Supervisor will coordinate the implementation and management of loss prevention programs specific to an assigned region (Western Suburbs of Chicago, WI and IN)  within the organization to reduce the frequency and severity of losses, both workers' compensation and general liability.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administers operating policies that affect multi-level organizational units.
  • Implement and administer regional safety and workers¿ compensation program for field operations, assuring compliance with internal policy/procedures, OSHA, and all other governmental agencies.
  • Update all appropriate operations/departments of changes in federal or state OSHA standards.
  • Assist field operations in the evaluation of new clients (within assigned territory) to determine how they can be serviced safely and profitably.
  • Perform accident investigations of all claims and develop an action plan to prevent or reduce the chance of a reoccurrence. 
  • Provide assistance to third party adjusters, legal counsel, managed care nurses, and Claims Manager relative to accident
  • Assist field operations in reducing employee accidents at client sites
  • Develop and analyze loss-cause data to identify critical safety issues surrounding frequency and severity trends in assigned territory. Implement action plans for targeting problematic clients, branches, and areas with unfavorable loss experience
  • Manage, implement and conduct on-site safety and risk management training for field operations. Assist field with management and guidance surrounding responsibilities for compliance within safety and all workers, compensation programs.
  • Erroneous decisions or recommendations would normally result in critical delays and modifications to project/operations; cause substantial expenditure of time, human resources, and funds; and jeopardize future business activity
  • Frequent contact with field operators and customer representatives concerning safety programs and rollout, scheduling requirements, or contractual clarification. Conducts briefings and technical meetings for internal and external representatives.
  • Provides training to the field staff on relevant loss control and legal compliance issues. Also provides advice to field management of the potential risks at client locations and assist them in making sound business decisions.
  • Mentor/lead/develop others; manage delivery of products/services to achieve agreed end result; budget accountability; goals and objectives management
 

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

  • 2 to 5 years Safety experience (warehouse, production, and/or manufacturing environments) OR College degree in Occupational safety/health/industrial 


SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • - Strong project management skills
  • - Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • - Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • - Demonstrated experience in a Light Industrial operation environment
  • - Experience describing and documenting project or client requirements
  • - Possesses consulting, leadership, interpersonal and mentoring skills
  • - Bi-Lingual, Spanish speaking is a plus, but not required
