The Sr Payroll Tax Analyst will support daily operations of US Payroll and be responsible for analysis of payroll tax processes in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This includes, but is not limited to the areas of compliance, process improvement and automation for multiple weekly and bi-weekly payrolls for a population in excess of 100,000 nation-wide.

- Interpreting and complying with state, local and international statutes, regulations, and legislation through daily - quarterly audits, training and educating others to comply, and developing best practices.
- Analyze paycheck discrepancies as it relates to current year and prior year reporting.
- Review and execute accurate multi-state calculations according to federal and state regulations and reciprocity rules in relation to processing YTD balance table adjustments and or W2c’s.
- Support production and test payrolls for tax errors.
- Identify and solve root causes of discrepancies in payroll processing, and initiate improvements for efficiency and consistency across tax related functions.
- Troubleshoot, identify and report any potential database issues . C
- Collaborate with functional and technical resources for system upgrades/fixes and provide SME support for testing.
- User acceptance testing for system updates related to regulatory changes, fixes, and enhancements.
- Project coordinator for quarter-end and year-end tasks as it relates to the production of W2’s. Special projects related to payroll tax as assigned.
- Research, Reconciliation, Problem Identification, and Resolution - Researching transactional tax issues for Federal, State, and local jurisdictions.
- Analyze tax consequences of actual and proposed transactions and provide appropriate consultation. Contact jurisdictions as needed for clarification and resolution.
- Assist with the preparation of tax liability reporting and filing. Partner with the Corporate Tax team to resolve reporting and filing discrepancies.
- Assist with jurisdictional audits led by Corporate Tax.
- Assist with the reconciliation of transaction tax general ledger accounts as well as any other reconciliation as it relates to payroll and payroll tax.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) support on key enterprise initiatives and liaison for Benefits, Compensation, H/R, Talent Relations, Treasury, Accounting, IT, and more. Develop professional relationships within Business Services, support teams, and customer LOB Operations.
- Coach, review, and support team growth by administering, developing, and updating training materials to ensure payroll team is versed on best practice for departmental processes (compliance and regulatory, contractual, system).
What you need to bring:
- Proficiency using Google mail, calendaring and shared drives
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience. Educational background in business, finance, accounting, computer science or math preferred.
- FPC/CPP preferred
- Expertise in payroll and tax operations
- 5+ years of demonstrated work experience in payroll tax for large volume, multi-state, multi-frequency payroll (50,000+ payees)
- Staffing industry experience preferred
- Experience interfacing with other teams and customers, providing positive customer experience, working through conflict or complex matters
- PeopleSoft or other HRMS human resources and payroll experience
- Disciplined approach in developing and implementing standardized processes and procedures to drive results
- Advanced Excel and Google Suite experience required
- Strong Excel VBA and/or Google Script experience for report and analysis building preferred
- Strong Structured Query Language (SQL) experience, preferably with PeopleSoft
- Expert at navigating Randstad systems for team, awareness of systems used by other teams
- Ability to work flexible hours when needed
