As a Human Resources Business Partner, you will be at the heart of human resources. You will build HR programs adapted to the needs of your line of business by collaborating with the various HR departments, focusing on employee relations, people development, succession planning, and strategic corporate support.

your typical day includes

You will have the opportunity to work closely with the HR team and business line management to implement corporate initiatives. This role allows you to develop your career within a team of seasoned HR professionals, applying your skills as a consultant, coach, and strategic partner. You will also participate in a number of new national HR initiatives, contributing to our collective success.

your responsibilities include

  • Partnering with the HR VP, HR Leadership team and line of business (LOB) leaders to develop and manage the LOB strategic HR Plan
  • Partnering with Talent Relations Leader to ensure effective performance management aligned with LOB objectives and local legislation
  • Partnering with Internal Recruitment Leaders to ensure effective design and implementation of recruitment initiatives within LOB
  • Partnering with Training and Development Leader to ensure the effective design and implementation of all training and development programs
  • Communicating HR recommendations throughout all levels of LOB leadership (as appropriate) and executing on strategic recommendations
  • Acting as advisor to Compliance & Legal Affairs in matters of legislative risk management in all employment-related legal areas, including; employment standards, equity, privacy and access to information, human rights, and health & safety legislation
  • Tracking, analyzing and communicating all people trends with potential to affect the business and making recommendations to the LOB president.
  • Partnering with Internal Communications to Support the Randstad employer brand and name recognition through all LOB-wide communications, external employer surveys (GPTW) and networking events
  • Supporting the Health and Safety Team in effective claims management for internal employees
  • Responsible for all HR initiatives within client group (recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation, change management and succession planning) within client group
  • Partnering with HRIS Admin and Internal Payroll to ensure employee data integrity; reporting relationships; employee transfers, role changes or departures

your background

  • College Diploma or University Degree with a focus in business administration or human resources is strongly preferred
  • 5 years of prior experience in a generalist human resources role, with a strong emphasis on employee relations is required
  • CHRP Designation, or in progress is an asset, but not required
  • A high level of tact and diplomacy, in addition to respect for sensitive and confidential information
  • Due to the nature and function of this role, the ability to work overtime and non-standard business hours is required from time to time
  • Occasional travel to branches across Canada is required, at least once per quarter
  • Must be bilingual (French/English)
  • Leadership skills and the strong desire to coach and mentor others
  • Resilience, and creative problem solving abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities and interests
  • Expert time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong results-orientation
  • Courage to act
