The Engineering Solutions Director is a strategic, consultative leader responsible for growing and delivering complex, project-based engineering and technical solutions for enterprise clients. This role focuses on designing, selling, and implementing outcome-driven services that go beyond traditional staffing, including managed services, project delivery, and consulting engagements.

In this role, you will partner with executive-level stakeholders to solve complex workforce and technical challenges across sectors such as Energy, EPC, Utilities, Advanced Manufacturing, and Industrial Automation. You will own the full solution lifecycle — from opportunity identification and solution design through financial performance and client satisfaction — while driving multi-million-dollar portfolios and long-term strategic partnerships.

What you get to do:

  • Drive growth by identifying, qualifying, and closing complex, project-based engineering solutions (e.g., design-build, automation/controls, CAD services, CoE support)
  • Build trusted, executive-level relationships (VP Engineering, Directors of Projects, Plant Managers) to uncover business challenges and deliver value-based solutions
  • Design comprehensive Statements of Work (SOWs), pricing models, and delivery frameworks in partnership with internal SMEs
  • Own solution financials, including pricing strategy, cost modeling, margin management, and profitability
  • Expand solution penetration within existing Strategic, Mid-Market, and VMS accounts where staffing engagements have matured
  • Manage the client experience across the full project lifecycle to ensure outcomes, KPIs, and expectations are met
  • Translate complex engineering and technical challenges into clear business outcomes for clients
  • Use data and reporting to evaluate performance, manage risk, and continuously improve solution delivery
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, delivery, and engineering teams to scale solutions effectively
  • Act as a thought leader and peer coach, sharing best practices and supporting practice-level growth

What you need to bring:

  • 7–12 years of experience in engineering services, project-based consulting, or solutions-based selling
  • Proven success closing multi-million-dollar SOWs or managed engineering projects
  • Deep expertise in one or more verticals: Energy/EPC, Utilities, Advanced Manufacturing, Industrial Automation, or Renewables
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to design financially sound, scalable solutions
  • Executive-level communication skills with the ability to influence and present to senior client audiences
  • Demonstrated experience translating technical concepts into business value
  • Proficiency with CRM and pursuit management tools (e.g., Salesforce, Bullhorn)
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for building new revenue streams
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
  • Willingness to travel as needed; hybrid work environment
