Location: Woburn, MA (Local Mid-Market Team)
Hybrid Work Model: In-office (Tues - Thurs)
Why this Role?
Are you an engineer who loves the complexity of the industry but finds yourself wanting to step out from behind the CAD software or project spreadsheets and into a strategic, client-facing role?
As a Client Development Manager (Engineering Workforce Consultant) at Randstad Global, you will leverage your technical engineering background to serve as the specialized face of our Engineering vertical. You won't just be selling; you will be speaking peer-to-peer with engineering leaders in EPC, Energy, and Advanced Manufacturing to solve their most critical workforce challenges. This is a pivotal career pivot for a technical professional looking to transition their expertise into high-impact commercial leadership.
What You Get to Do
You will own the strategic client relationship - identifying and expanding opportunities for contract, project-based, and specialized talent solutions - while partnering with a dedicated recruiting team that handles candidate delivery.
- Solve Complex Workforce Challenges: Partner with engineering leaders to translate their deeply technical requirements into high-impact talent and project-based solutions.
- Drive Strategic Account Growth: Act as a technical consultant to identify, pitch, and secure new business relationships, leveraging your industry credibility to open doors.
- Lead the "Split-Desk" Partnership: Own the client relationship from end-to-end while collaborating with an expert recruiting team that aligns specialized talent pipelines with your clients' demands.
- Value-Engineer Agreements: Manage the negotiation of staffing contracts and rate structures, ensuring competitive, profitable, and sustainable placements.
- Act as an Industry Subject Matter Expert: Stay ahead of market trends, using data-driven insights to advise clients on staffing strategies and specialized project fulfillment.
What You Need to Bring
We are specifically looking for professionals who bridge the gap between technical execution and people-centric strategy.
- Engineering Foundation: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required. Professional certifications (e.g., PE, EIT, CMfgE, or CEPC) are highly preferred to ensure immediate technical credibility with your clients.
- Industry Fluency: 2 to 7 years of hands-on experience or deep exposure within the EPC, Energy, and/or Advanced Manufacturing sectors.
- The Pivot Mindset: A strong desire to move away from traditional engineering tasks and transition into a high-energy, client-facing, and relationship-driven role.
- Consultative Sales Aptitude: High potential (or proven ability) to master solution selling and value-based negotiation. You focus on solving complex client challenges, not transactional sales.
- Strategic & Analytical Mindset: Ability to use data analysis, financial modeling, and engineering design logic to develop sustainable workforce strategies.
- Performance Resilience: A self-starting, results-oriented professional who thrives in a metrics-driven landscape and enjoys the reward of building a business portfolio.
